Project Helix
Helix was a concept pitch of an at-home device targeted towards the boomer generation to help connect easier with their loved ones. Boomer generation is sometimes called a ‘sandwich generation’ as they have an older generation to take care of, as well as a younger generation that they look to be closer.
This device was a telecommunication device that acted as an intelligent hub with large tablet-like screen. At the time of the pitch, there was no significant device such as this. Unfortunately, the pitch did not go through. Interestingly, though, about a year and half later, Echo Show (Amazon Echo with a screen), was released which had a very similar concept.
As a lead designer, I was tasked with developing persona, creating various use cases, conceptualizing and creating mock screens and the hardware form factor.
